SP-ID-AC · Comfortable conversation

It absorbs reverberation. It does not pretend to insulate you from the neighbours.

A soft upholstered surface over an absorbent layer cuts echo and reverberation time. This improves the acoustics inside a room; it is not sound insulation for the wall itself.

Framing
45 × 45 mm battens or plasterboard framing at 600 mm centres

We do not publish a weight here, because the older source documents give conflicting figures.

Installation

On steel profiles or on timber battens

The framing is the same as for plasterboard. The installation guide specifies 600 mm centres and screws every 300 mm.

Wall panels fitted on steel profiles

Steel profiles

The same profiles used for plasterboard. A drylining crew has nothing new to learn.

Wall panels fitted on timber battens

Timber battens

Battens screwed to the wall, or an existing timber frame. The option for loft spaces and timber-frame buildings.

Frequently asked questions

Will the panel block noise from next door?+

The panel absorbs sound inside the room and cuts reverberation. It is not a substitute for designing the sound insulation of the wall itself.

How much of the wall should be covered?+

The manufacturer suggests roughly 25-40%, but the right area depends on the volume of the room, the materials and the acoustic goal. This is a guide, not a design calculation.

Can I supply my own fabric?+

Yes, once we have confirmed its properties and that it can be processed.
